What’s new… on social media
I could write an article each month referring to everything new that Facebook, Twitter or Instagram launche. Social networks don’t stop and are constantly innovating and introducing improvements. Today I want to explain you what happened in the recent months and what is going to come new.
The big bombshell: Facebook is working on the ‘Dislike’ button to interact with the content. Users have been claiming that for a long time! We will see how the new option fits in corporate pages… Zuckerberg’s company is testing the ‘See first’ function (see first). They want to loyal users to content pages or friends who want to pursue. You can decide which friends or pages you are more interested in, and every morning when you open your feed their posts will appear first. With this new button they want to offer personalized content to users. But you can already sense the desire to get subscriptions by professional pages. The ‘Like’ will not be as important, and once again the quality content is king.
Maybe it’s the social network that has brought more novelties, and all them responding to users requests’. Leaving aside its square images insignia, Instagram has agreed to incorporate the horizontal and vertical photos. After the pressure from users with more or less power (the official count of Star Wars was one of those who lobbied their 1.7m followers), the network allows to upload original images, as it has been taken. In addition, videos can also be viewed both horizontally and vertically. I’m sure that Instagram will get profit of that with the promoted releases with Instagram Ads.
And another who changes his mind… Twitter announced few weeks ago that users can send more than 140 characters in direct messages, not on timeline that continues as usual. Another Twitter update has driven crazy Apple users looking for trending topics. With the latest release, tab trends have disappeared from iPads and iPhones screens. Through there you could follow the most used hashtags or people and news of the moment. Now, you need to go to the ‘search’ tab if you want to see the trending topic list of the moment. It hasn’t got sense, ins’t it For now this is the highlight that Social Networks have brought us, but I’m sure that while you read this, there are many updates or latest news. The activity does not stop.
